Oh this family… they are the absolute sweetest!  You might remember their ‘One’derland session from last year.  We had just as much fun this year and not only is little Ms. cutie the BIG *two* now, but she is also going to be a BIG sister this Fall.  I’m so excited for their growing family and adore all of the images we got to help document this special time.  Mom and Dad are pro’s at being in the moment and allowing me to capture all of the love that they have for each other.  There was plenty of laughing, playing and a whole lotta lovin’.  You don’t want to miss this fun little video from their session, catch me if you can.  And can you believe all of the beautiful light we got?!  They were glowing!  I’m so glad that we did not listen to the 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorm weather reports.  Which is why I just don’t trust them.  Good ‘ole Texas weather!  😉  Everything was perfect… so very perfect. … these two fell in love.  Now, 40 years of marriage later, it doesn’t take much to see how much they adore each other and how proud they are of their kids, in-laws and that sweet grandson.  I love that they planned this special family vacation for all of them to be together and to enjoy some time at the lake.  And I *really* love that they chose me to help capture them.  What an honor and how special to have these memories!  There was lots of smiling, laughing and joking around.  They are the kind of family that you instantly feel like you’ve known for years, so warm and welcoming.  I really enjoyed my time with them and love all of the images we got.  Here are some of my favorites…   [Read more…]

This little man is quite the flirt and really LOVED the camera!  He definitely stole my heart for a second time.  The first time was at his newborn session and I can’t believe that he used to be just 5lbs.  He’s not so little anymore and he has *the* cutest personality with some really awesome dance moves.  Oh how the girls are going to eat him up!  I *really* wanted to take him home with me, he’s just so sweet!  But between Mom and PaPa, I would not have gotten far.  Speaking of PaPa, he was the best smile assistant EVER.  He pulled out all of the tricks and has some pretty sweet dance moves himself.  😉  I’m so glad they made time for me to capture some portraits during their visit home with family.  It was really special to get to see them again!   [Read more…]

This session is full of so much happiness and I love that as I look through these images, I can hear sweet little Ab’s giggle.  It’s the cutest and you can’t help but join in when you hear it!  By the way, did you see the bluebonnet tackle?  Oh how we laughed!  She has grown so much from our last session and is still quite the explorer, but with a bit more speed this time around.  😉  She comes by it honestly as her parent’s are very active… they love running and playing together as a family.  In fact, her beautiful Momma completed the Boston Marathon just a week before this session.  How cool is that?!  I’m not sure I would be able to move and yet, there she was, running in her wedges and having the best time with her awesome little family.  And since Ab is all about Frozen right now, it only seemed appropriate that we end the session with some princess dress-up and a serenade of Let It Go.  What a wonderful afternoon!   [Read more…]

Her name is Cocoa and she is the most lovable fur baby that will totally melt your heart with her kisses.  She has some really awesome parents too!  I loved getting to help document their time together during this special session.  We even managed to squeeze in a little happy hour complete with beer, wine and some fancy water for Ms. Cocoa.  And don’t Bret and Suzanne make the cutest couple?!   Their love for each other is undeniable and it was so sweet to witness Bret’s helpfulness with everything during the shoot.  You can tell how much he cares about both of these beautiful ladies.  I’m so glad that they took the time to have this session so that they can fur-ever have these happy images.  You can see how much they all love each other and that makes my heart really full.  I’m honored that they chose me to help capture it all!  [Read more…]

Sometimes getting younger siblings to participate in newborn sessions can be pretty challenging… but WOW, what a sweet big sister M is!  She has taken on her new role with so much love that it resulted in nothing short of a magical afternoon of snuggles and lots and lots of kisses.  What an honor to get to help capture that for them!  I can’t wait for them to look back on these as they get older.  Makes me all warm and fuzzy!  And those images of Mom with her baby girl?  They way she looks at her, kisses her little fingers… I melt, I seriously melt!  You *have* to check out the video below… so many lovely moments!    [Read more…]

SAVING THROWBACK THURSDAY | dallas, tx lifestyle photographer

As much as I love that adorable camel running around saying HUMP DAYYYYYY, Throwback Thursday is where it’s at.  I always look forward to seeing everyone’s posts and getting to take a trip down memory lane.  But it has also really got me thinking… what if none of those photos had ever been printed?  There is no denying that we now live in a digital world.  Convenient? Yes, but reliable?  No.  Hard drives fail, phones get washed in the laundry and sometimes things just disappear… right into thin air {ahem, aka, user error}.  It’s so easy to get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, that printing photos from last weekend’s err, last year’s {    fill in the blank    } seems like the least of your worries.  Hey, I get it.  I’m totally guilty of this too.  So in an effort to stay on top of it all, I’m going to start using Thursdays as a day to take a little bit of time to look through my files {computer/instagram/phone/etc}, pick out my favorites and print my images.  I challenge *you* to do the same and together we can save Throwback Thursday from becoming extinct.  I know, I know… so dramatic!  But seriously, what good are all those photos 10 or 20 years from now if you never print them?  Think about it… and then make it happen.  Here are some of my favorite resources for printing and backing up photos:

  • Mpix:  I love Mpix! Their product line is extensive and their quality is outstanding.
  • Artifact Uprising:  Custom photo goods made easy… their products are ahhhh-mazing and will totally have you swooning.
  • Groovebook:  For only $2.99 a month, including shipping and processing, Groovebook will send you a photo book each month.  The photos are perforated for easy removal so you can share with your friends and family… so COOL!
  • Printsagram:  A great way to print your Instagram photos with a unique selection of products.
  • CrashPlan:  If you’re not backing up your computer and hard drive(s) online, this is a wonderful way to help protect all of your important files.

This sweet little one definitely wins the award for smiliest newborn.  He was such a happy camper and already has the cutest personality.  Mom & Dad have quite the ham on their hands… he was *all* about the camera!  Being that we waited around 3 weeks to do his session, we got so many adorable facial expressions and really awesome eye contact.  And watching Mom & Dad take it all in was really special, they obviously love him to the moon and back.  So very sweet… just check out the below video and see for yourself.  PS – Just incase you missed them, you can find a couple more of my favorites here and here.    [Read more…]
