When planning, Abbey knew that she wanted to incorporate downtown Dallas along with a more natural setting to give her a couple of different looks. And nothing makes me happier than seeing all of that come together for a unique, customized senior portrait session! She sure made it easy on me and was such a trouper trekking from spot to spot with a broken ankle, of all things. Abbey is on the Sweetheart Drill Team at Centennial High School, so we knew that we wanted to capture her in her uniform. And let me tell you, we used *every* last bit of light, but it all worked out perfectly and made for a fun way to end our session. You can see a couple more of my favorites here and here. Abbey, I loved my time with you and your mom and can’t wait to hear what college you decide on. Any of them will be lucky to have you, *but* my big ‘ole Red Raider heart sure hopes Texas Tech makes the cut. 😉 [Read more…]
BEHIND THE SCENES | dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photographer
It’s always awesome to get an email after a session with some behind the scenes snapshots from our time together. I love it when that happens! These were taken by Mom {with her iPhone} during her daughter’s graduating senior portraits at the Dallas Arboretum. I had no idea she was taking these, so I have to laugh at my stances and ask… is *that* really what I look like?! Why, yes… yes it is. These are actually probably pretty tame considering I will do just about anything to get the shot. Including my stalker stance, which involves me shooting through bushes, trees, {fill in the blank}. I can only image how crazy that looks. 😉 Anywho, I thought it would be fun to share these with you guys along with the resulting image from each one… [Read more…]
DOWNTOWN DALLAS | graduating senior portrait photographer
It’s that time of year again when I get to work with the most wonderful graduating seniors from all over the metroplex. I love, love it! And this session was no different. I had such a great time with T and his mom as we made our way around downtown Dallas. He will be graduating from Highland Park this spring and since he is not originally from Texas, Mom wanted to be sure and incorporate some of the beautiful surroundings of this area into his images. Fun, right?! T is a laid back, casual guy with a great sense of humor. Of course I loved having him in front of my lens, but I also really enjoyed getting to chat with him and his mom throughout the session. And yes, if you saw a photographer shooting in the bushes on your way to see Phantom of the Opera, it was probably me. I have no doubt how crazy I look during sessions, but I really have no shame… I’ll do just about anything for the shot. 😉 [Read more…]
OLD SOUL | dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photography
He likes listening to classic rock & roll, watching old episodes of Doctor Who and reading whenever he gets a chance. He’s accomplished and mature beyond his years. An old soul that will not hesitate one second to share how much his Mom means to him {LOVE that}. What a joy it was to be around them both for his graduating senior session. As we traveled from spot to spot in Downtown Dallas, I really enjoyed learning more about him and his plans for the future. I love that we did portraits in his JROTC uniform and that we were able to incorporate his love of music. He was a *really* great sport as his main goal was to give his Mom some photos she could enjoy for many years to come. Mission accomplished… what a wonderful young man! He is already well on his way, but I wish him nothing but the best. PS – check out this behind the scenes photo that his sweet Mom took during the shoot. Such a fun afternoon!
THOSE EYES. THAT FIELD.| dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photography
And all of that beauty?! So, so awesome and Melena is just as sweet as her name, which I learned means “honey” in greek. I LOVE it! I could tell right away we were going to have a great time from our planning call and immediately knew we had to use this location to give her the natural look she wanted. I adore her easy going spirit and her ability to laugh and just have fun in whatever she is doing. Like this little video of her and her Mom… see, I told you, fun! 🙂 It was such a pleasure getting to work with her and I know she has a very bright future ahead. [Read more…]
BEAUTY & THE GARDEN| dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photography
It was chilly and windy, but the sun was shinning bright for Shana’s graduating senior portrait session. She handled all the elements perfectly and I just love how dreamy her images turned out at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. So lovely! And just when I thought the wind was going to blow her right into White Rock Lake, Shana wrestled those balloons into place and *bam*… perfect and so worth the effort! I had such a great time with her and her Mom, who was such a rockstar helper the whole shoot {thanks Mom!} and am so grateful that they chose me to help capture these images. Shana, I am beyond excited for you as you start this next chapter in your life… Wreck ’em Tech!!! [Read more…]
THE PERFECT MIX| dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photography
From Downtown Dallas to wildflowers, this session was the perfect mix of urban and natural settings for Taylor’s senior portraits. We worked together closely to create a unique session and I could not be happier with how everything turned out. And don’t you just love her in those yellow flowers?! We had to work hard to find them, but it was so worth it. Taylor, you are pure sunshine! Thank you for being so wonderful to work with. I really enjoyed our time together and wish you nothing but the best! [Read more…]
DOWNTOWN DUDE | dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photographer
As much as I love all things sunny, I’m also quite partial to lovely overcast days as well. You get such soft, filtered light and at this session we got to use some areas that I normally can’t touch because the sun is usually too strong… bonus!! It was a nice afternoon spent in Downtown Dallas with this soon-to-be graduating senior. I enjoyed hearing about his plans for college and listening to his great accent. 😉 He was super easy going and great to work with, much like his brother. I wish them both nothing but the best as they finish out their senior years and start the next chapters of their lives. See more images… [Read more…]
PROUD MOMENTS | dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photographer
It’s no secret that I love shooting at The Cotton Mill so I was thrilled when she decided to do her session there and I love that she was willing to try out a new outdoor location with me too. It was the most perfect ending to a wonderful afternoon together. We had lots of ooooo and ahhhh moments sneaking peeks of the back of the camera and maybe even some holding back of tears from Mom. I can’t blame her, she has so much to proud of during such an exciting time in her daughter’s life. She’s a smart, sweet and talented young lady with a bright future ahead. I’m honored that they chose me to help capture her true beauty from the inside and out. I enjoyed every minute of it! See more images… [Read more…]
MODERN COOL | dallas, tx graduating senior portrait photographer
Can I just say how much I love working with graduating seniors?! So awesome and ^^^this guy^^^ was so calm, cool and collected during his modern Downtown Dallas session. Even after getting stung by a BEE… eeekkkk… yes, that unfortunately happened but he handled it like a real champ. Such a great sport and easy going guy. I really enjoyed my time with him and his Mom and can’t wait to work with his brother for his senior portraits in a few weeks too. YES, I get to work with another guy senior… from the same amazing family. {update: you can check out his brother’s session here} Thank you B Family, I’m excited! See more images… [Read more…]
