Photos by Pinkle Toes Photography
I was around 5 years old with my first camera full of film, on a family road trip back to West Texas. I must have begged my parents to pull over about a bazillion times so I could get the perfect shot. I ended up with a bunch of photos of cows and flat land, but this was when I fell in love with having a camera in my hands. Being able to capture whatever I wanted through my lens was pure joy.
As my passion for photography continued to grow, so did my love for photographing people and creating portraits that tell a story. Not just any story, but your story. With real expressions and emotions. The warmth of a hug, the sweetness of a kiss and your laughter filling the air air. I want to capture you just the way you are, at this very moment in time. Not just for you, but for your loved ones and those that come along after us. Your happiness artfully documented and passed on for years to come.
Before going into photography full-time, I worked for a non-profit for almost 8 years. So when I started my business it was important for me to find a way to also be able to give back. Tressavent Photography is a fusion of photography and philanthropy, together creating Love Capture Give®. Each session purchased helps provided donated sessions throughout the year to local causes and charities to help bring awareness to their stories and all the great work they are doing in our community.
A couple of my favorite photographs…
I adore this image of my grandma and me. My dad captured us perfectly, which by the way, is the one responsible for getting me into photography {thanks Dad}. We are not looking at the camera, we are not posed, we are just us. *This* is what I want to help capture for you… pure, honest moments. It’s real and the best thing about photography is that it only gets better with age. Each year I love and value this image even more and more. That’s why it’s important that we get our photos off of our hard drives. If my Dad had left this on a slide, I would likely not be looking at it today. But don’t fret, I will help you decide which products will perfectly compliment your images and your needs so you don’t have to worry about them living in the lonely land of your hard drive.
And that fellow to the right, that is my great grandude and who I’m named after, Tressavent Samuel. Unfortunately, I do not know too much about him, but I am very thankful for this photograph. It really tells a story all on its own. The back indicates it was taken in 1910.
